Welcome!

About me

Welcome to my environmental exploration hub! I’m a passionate advocate for sustainability with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Environmental Studies from Eckerd College. Currently, I’m involved as a Natural Resource Specialist with the U.S. Forest Service, contributing to Recreation Information Management within the Enterprise Program.

My journey spans from the ocean depths, starting as a SCUBA Diving Intern in New York for the Billion Oyster Project. Along the way, I’ve collaborated with various organizations, including the Coral Restoration Foundation, Cape Eleuthera Institute, the Island School, the New York Aquarium, Youth Diving With a Purpose, Collective Approach to Restoring our EcoSystems, the National Park Service, and National Geographic Photo Camp. These experiences have led me to delve into coral planting, health monitoring, and marine conservation at the fostering a profound love for our planet’s diverse ecosystems

Beyond marine adventures, I actively contribute to environmental initiatives with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a Scientific Advisor, I create 3D photo mosaics of reefs and coordinate global citizen science projects, aiming not only to make a positive impact on our planet’s health but also to foster diversity and inclusion within the environmental sector. My dedication extends to creating opportunities for marginalized and underrepresented communities, ensuring that the benefits of environmental conservation reach everyone.

Navigating both seas and sustainability, I bring a wealth of experience in maintaining boat vessels, ensuring their optimal condition for both functionality and aesthetics. As a Boat Detailer & Cleaner, I preserved boat conditions through meticulous cleaning techniques, addressing aspects such as removing algae from the bottom and minimizing rust on the top side. My responsibilities extended to maintaining scuba gear equipment, including regulators, oxygen tanks, scuba compressors, and BCDS, ensuring the safety and efficiency of diving operations.

With a strong foundation as a deckhand, I understand the intricacies of docking and leaving the dock. This includes setting up lines, adjusting boat fenders, and adhering to Coast Guard safety regulations. My diverse skill set in boat maintenance and sailing operations reflects my dedication to both environmental conservation and the seamless execution of maritime activities.

During my time as a Restoration Diver, where I actively contributed to oyster installation and reef maintenance, I simultaneously acquired proficiency in using ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap. This computer program has become indispensable in my current role, where I edit trails for the National Forest System and ensure their accuracy through the utilization of remote data sensing tools such as LIDAR. Drawing from this experience, I’ve taken on the role of tutoring undergraduate students, imparting the fundamentals of the program. Moreover, I specialize in creating maps, predominantly focusing on terrestrial and ocean projects, tailored to specific requests. Additionally, I have extended my skills to the creation of photo mosaics using Agisoft, particularly highlighting the beauty and intricacies of Coral Reefs in the Florida Keys.

Embark on this exhilarating voyage with me, where ocean exploration, environmental advocacy, and the intersection of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) converge. Together, let’s commit to shaping a sustainable future that embraces the richness of our planet’s diverse ecosystems!
